Formation & Career Indie (1999-2003)
The band was formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California with original members M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev. and Matt Wendt. M. Shadows give a name as a reference to Cain and Abel story from the Bible, though not a religious band. After its formation, each band member also raised a pseudonym that was a call from them from high school. Before releasing their debut album, the band recorded two demos in 1999 and 2000. Their first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, was recorded when the band was eighteen years old and in high school. It was originally released on their first label, Good Life Records in 2001. After guitarist Synyster Gates joined the band, at the end of 1999 when he was 18 years old at the introductory track "To End The Rapture" was re-recordings showing the full band elements. The album was later re-released on Hopeless Records in 2002.
The band began to receive recognition, performing with bands such as Mushroomhead and Shadows Fall and play in the Take Action Tour. Once settled in their fourth bassist, Johnny Christ, they released Waking the Fallen on Hopeless Records in August 2003. The band received a profile in Billboard and The Boston Globe, and play in the Vans Warped Tour. In 2004, Avenged Sevenfold tour again at the Vans Warped Tour and recording a video for the song "Unholy Confessions" which went into rotation on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball. Shortly after the release of Waking the Fallen, Avenged Sevenfold left Hopeless Records and was signed to Warner Bros. Records.
City of Evil (2005-2007)
In 2005, the United States is saturated with hip-hop and pop are rampant, and Avenged Sevenfold released their album City of Evil, exactly on the date of June 8, 2005. Hits single Bat Country is a song metal / rock that ruled the first MTV TRL. They popularized the back with a duet guitar solo guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance really heats moshpit area. The record was certified gold and won the title Best New Artist in a Video at the MTV VMA 2006 for the song Bat Country.
Avenged Sevenfold (2007-2008)
In 2007, they re-entered the studio to record their latest songs to the studio albums to their 5. Beginning in August 2007, they went through their Asia Pacific tour, and had stopped in Indonesia and played their first song in public. Song called Almost Easy is getting rave reviews from fans around the world. When the punk band Dead Endang Jogjakarta didaulat be opening. 2008 This year, they participate as headliners at the Taste of Chaos tour with Bullet for My Valentine, ATREYU, Blessthefall and Idiot Pilot. When the tour, they recorded a DVD that contains 6 new tracks them. Dated October 22, 2008, Avenged Sevenfold gig back in Indonesia is still with the same event organizer of Java Musikindo and this time the American heavy metal band Gabriel didaulat opening band.
Live In The LBC & Diamonds in the Rough (2008-now this)
Album which was released on 16 September, 2008 This DVD contains 102 minutes and 52 minutes CD.
On this album there are two old song is "Afterlife" and "Almost Easy". But both songs are not exactly like the original song. In the song "Afterlife" added the game more violin, while the song "Almost Easy" is a mix of different songs. In addition there is also the song "Walk" which is a cover of Pantera, and "Flash of the Blade" is a cover of Iron Maiden.
On July 16, the magazine Kerrang! (1219 edition) produced a free CD entitled "Maiden Heaven: A Tribute to Iron Maiden" album in honor of one of the biggest heavy metal band in the world of Iron Maiden. Matt Shadows said, "Maiden are by far the best live band in the world and their music is Timeless," and "This also gives us a chance to expose this great song to some of our younger fans who maybe are not as familiar with Iron Maiden. "
